DATC Foundation Annual Golf Tournament Raises Nearly $40,000 for Scholarships

Davis Technical College (Davis Tech) Foundation hosted its Annual Golf Tournament on June 28, 2017, at Bountiful Ridge Golf Course. The tournament brought together golfers, Davis Tech Foundation members, and corporate sponsors to enjoy a game of golf and raise money.

Although the golf tournament is the Foundation’s major annual event, the Foundation fundraises for scholarships year-round. During the 2016-2017 academic year, the Foundation awarded over $180,000 in scholarship funds, and 34 students received scholarships directly supported by the Golf Tournament.

The golfers enjoyed breakfast provided by Admiral Beverage Corporation and Chick-Fil-A and co-sponsored by US Foods and Kroger. Texas Roadhouse provided lunch, with Lincoln Electric as co-sponsor. Other sponsors included Orbital ATK, Davis Hospital, Orbit, America First Credit Union, Goldenwest Credit Union, Albany Engineered Composites, NetWize, Utah Educational Savings Plan, Intermountain Layton Hospital, Tanner Clinic, Ed Kenley Ford, Kaysville Rotary Club, Barlow Corporation, Dartside, Hexcel, Structural Steel, Gramoll Construction, Hughes General Contractors, LSI, Performance Bountiful, Holly Frontier, DEWALT, Logo Concepts, and the Standard Examiner.

“Each year the Foundation Golf tournament raises funds for student scholarships at the Davis Technical College,” says Marcie Valdez, Davis Technical College Foundation director. “More than 40 students will benefit from the gift of education because of this event. We are so grateful to our sponsors and participants for the life changing opportunities their support will create for so many.”
