Data Consistency and Referring Fraud Policy Student Financial Aid - Policy and Procedures

    1. The College has an established system for identifying fraudulent activities, per federal
      regulation

  3. Definitions
    1. Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR): The electronic document used by the
      Department of Education to report a student's eligibility for federal aid to the College
  4. Policy
    1. If financial aid staff suspects that a student, employee, or other individual has misreported
      information or altered documentation to increase student aid eligibility or to fraudulently obtain
      federal funds, the staff member will report their suspicions to the Office of Inspector General
      and provide any supporting documentation
  5. Procedure
    1. When financial aid staff suspects that the student has attempted to increase their eligibility for
      aid through fraudulent reporting, the staff member will contact the Office of Inspector General
      (OIG) at 1-800-MIS-USED (800-647-8733) immediately
    2. If any person employed by the College suspects or is made aware of a college employee
      knowingly or suspiciously obtaining federal funds, they will report those actions to the Office of
      Inspector General (OIG)at 1-800-MIS-USED. (800-647-8733)
