Davis Tech Celebrates Student Success at 2026 Spring Commencement

On Tuesday, Davis Technical College (Davis Tech) honored 1,146 graduates at their spring graduation in Farmington at Western Sports Park.

With more than 2,800 attendees, the celebration focused on themes of resilience and accomplishments.

Dee Weaver, Director of Programs for the School of Health Professions, addressed the students, "You came to Davis Tech with questions: Can I do this and will it be worth it? You’ve learned more than technical skills here; you’ve learned how to show up, how to keep going when it’s hard, how to ask for help, and how to offer it. You’ve proved to yourself and your family that you are capable, resilient, and ready."

Students shared stories of special moments and life choices. “Each of us came to Davis Tech with a dream,” states Alexis Blank, Dental Assisting graduate. “We stayed. We learned. We grew. There were moments we wanted to quit. Moments, we questioned ourselves. But every single one of us sitting here today chose not to stop. And that choice to keep going is what makes this moment so powerful.”

Blank has a bright future ahead. She is a member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and represented Davis Tech as a student ambassador. She plans to continue her education at Weber State University in pre-med.

Utah State Representative Paul Cutler, delivered the keynote address, sharing four guiding principles for life: think big, prepare well, work hard, and live right.

He emphasized the importance of good communication, collaboration, and continuously learning new skills, noting that “Davis Tech is a great place that changes lives!”

"These graduates are stepping into the workforce ready to make an immediate and meaningful impact across the state of Utah.” says Davis Tech Associate Vice President of Student Success Samantha Cusenza. "Their success strengthens local industries, supports economic growth, and helps improve their families’ lives. We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished and excited for the positive change they will continue to bring to communities throughout Utah."
